Penny looked up at Steve, obviously worried then turned, pushing her nose against Bucky's cheek. He sniffled and sat up a little. He looked up at Steve then asked, voice weak and shaking, "Will you hug me?" He wanted to be touched, wanted human contact that wasn't demanding or painful or anything.

"I-If you want to, I mean, you don't have to..." He couldn't blame Steve if Steve didn't want to touch him after what Bucky had just told him. He was less than worthless, good for nothing at all. Of course Captain America wouldn't stoop so low.
