Bucky nodded and scritched behind Penny's ears. She slumped down in the seat, apparently relieved that Bucky had managed to relax and rested her head on his thigh. "Should make her a vet appointment, too." That was something he didn't want to do. But he would have to. Penny would need a vet, need vaccinations and stuff.

He was fine with taking the long way home, but by the time they pulled up, Bucky was breathing more deeply, trying to keep himself calm. He got out of the car, catching Penny's leash to keep her from tearing away.

Bucky's other two guards, the ones that had been left here for the expedition were waiting. One was immediately approaching. "Sir, the President wants to speak to you."

Bucky swallowed hard against the lump in his throat and nodded. "Alright. Would you have somebody take the bags to my room?" He gestured kind of towards the trunk.

It was time to face the music.
